Eddie Brown

Eddie Brown

I just want to be the best dad I can be, but many obstacles often stand in the way. This is the story of one man’s fight to be a great father to his children in the face of opposing forces.

Originally from Chicago, Eddie is a proud product of Nebraska. A graduate of Goodrich Middle School, (THE) Lincoln High School and the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, he has a degree in business and experience in retail management, banking sales, HR recruitment and management, insurance sales and agency ownership, custom clothing sales and business ownership, as well as his nearly 15 years of band performance and management. If you know Eddie, it’s likely from a different chapter of his life than the person next to you. In his free time, Eddie mentors young men through the TeamMates Mentoring Program and volunteers with Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity in addition to his church and in various roles throughout the community. He enjoys watching mindless television through the wee hours of the night and morning as he’s working, playing board and card games, and the world’s most fierce sporting arena ever, table tennis, where he’s known (at least to himself) as “The Black Forest Gump.” In the time he’s given to be a dad, he absolutely cherishes his two babies, now ages 8 and 11, who keep him on his toes with their energy and inquisitiveness.
