Ignite Lincoln will award $9,000 to a local nonprofit that ignites passion in our community.
Our goal is to bring awareness to Lincoln nonprofits that live out their passion every day; to give back; and to offer a channel to recognize and reward our amazing community.
How to Apply
1. Nonprofits must submit their nomination via Twitter before midnight June 20. To qualify for entry, the hashtag #IgniteLNK and the word "nominate" must be included in the tweet. Entries may stand on their own or link to a website, video or photograph that helps tell the story of why the organization should be selected. To qualify for the contest, the nonprofit must be a 501(c)3 organization located in, or serving the citizens of, Lincoln, Nebraska.
2. The Ignite Lincoln nonprofit committee will select five finalists based on the creativity, clarity and the degree to which they exemplify igniting passion in Lincoln. The finalists will be announced on July 3, 2017.
3. During the live Ignite event on August 19, a representative from each nonprofit finalist will be asked to present in 140 seconds (strictly timed) why their nonprofit should be chosen by the audience. Tell a story. Why do you exist? How do you share your passion? What does that passion for your cause mean to Lincoln? Event attendees will be given a special code to vote via text message in real time for their favorite nonprofit. The nonprofit with the most votes will be awarded a check for $9,000 at the end of the evening.
