Speak at Ignite Lincoln

We are currently doing a Call for Proposals for Ignite Lincoln: Earth Day 2012.

There are, of course, some rules for your submission:

  • First off, this is not a talent show: we want to be enlightened. It’s cool that you can spin plates, but we want to see your big idea. Maybe you could instead tell us how creativity sometimes manifests itself in unexpected ways. But your idea doesn’t always have to be that deep.
  • Ignite Lincoln: Earth Day is environmentally-focused, so you have a greater chance of your talk being accepted if it’s oriented toward the planet, conservation, and similar topics.
  • Next, no pitches. Your idea should not be just a big advertisement for your business. Keep the spam away. If you have created something successful, your story might be interesting.
  • Be family-friendly. We won’t accept anything higher than PG-13.
  • Finally, we recommend providing a video telling us briefly who you are and a little bit about your topic. This is not required, but it will help us in the decision-making process. It doesn’t need to be anything fancy, but gives us an idea of what we can expect from you. Webcam quality will be sufficient.
  • Remember the format; you’re responsible for creating a presentation of 20 slides that automatically rotate every 15 seconds. (You don’t need to have this completed when you submit your idea.)
  • Finally, these rules are made to be broken. We don’t want to hold you back from showing off, but the more over the line you are, the more likely we’ll pick someone else.

That said, go ahead and submit your presentation now.

  1. Ignite Lincoln 1
  2. Ignite Lincoln 2

We had no small number of submissions, and a lot of great ideas were presented, but we have a time limit to consider. If you’re interested in speaking at Ignite Lincoln, you can look for the details of our second event sometime in the future.

If you have any questions, send us an email at info@ignitelincoln.org.
