Ignite: The People

Your fifteen minutes of fame has been condensed to five. How will you inspire your fellow Lincolnites?

Speak at Ignite Lincoln

You’ve been patiently waiting, so I’ll not keep the list from you any longer. Here is the speaker list for the first Ignite Lincoln event. Each of these speakers will be speaking about their passions on stage for 5 minutes, and they’ll have 20 slides that automatically rotate every 15 seconds.

In roughly no particular order:

  1. Dustin Ferguson—Making movies in Nebraska
  2. Thomas Casady—Technology in the police force
  3. Deb Averett—Building a Community
  4. Mark Kornbluh—Glassblowing
  5. Marcus Tegtmeier—Surviving the zombie apocalypse
  6. Mary Willis—“Cultures in Violent Collision: Sudanese Pastoralists in Nebraska”
  7. Jason McLaughlin—“Lincoln or Bust”
  8. Justin McDowell—Couch surfing
  9. Ali Schwanke—“You Just Might Be Connected to Brad Pitt”
  10. Kat Shiffler—US Social Forum
  11. Nate Lowry—Skydiving
  12. Jay Wilkinson—“How Silicon Implants Made Bill Gates & Steve Jobs Millionaires”
  13. Jason Johnson—“Concerning Wealth & Travel”
  14. Nick Ebert—“The Humble Chef”
  15. Andrea Davis—Foxfire Fest in Antelope Park
  16. Lyle Schmidt—LincRail

We had no small number of submissions, and a lot of great ideas were presented, but we have a time limit to consider. If you’re interested in speaking at Ignite Lincoln, you can look for the details of our second event sometime in the future.

As usual, stay tuned to our Twitter and Facebook accounts, and you’ll be the first to know.
